I have recently listened to a biography of Deitrich Bonhoeffer by Eric Metaxas entitled "Bonhoeffer: Pastor, Martyr, Prophet, Spy". Published by Blacksone Audio, Inc (2010), read by Malcolm Hillgartner, and available on audible.com.
Wow! Talk about walking through some of the most difficult stuff in our history and seeing it for the first time through the eyes of an incredible person who lived it. This book reads like a story- compelling you to dive deeper into the history and the suffering of the German people under the Nazi regime. The author ties themes together with such clarity that they seem directly applicable to us today.
Dietrich Bonhoeffer was an incredibly inspiring person who was sold out, completely, to loving God and following Jesus. His faith was simple yet well thought out, deep, intense, and inviting. Having never really even heard of him before, I am so glad I have listened to this book. It will keep you enthralled, the full 22 hours and 33 minutes of it. It is also well narrated and easy to listen to.
Hope you listen, or read! Tell me what you think!
